Rosie Anderson

Hello! I’m so glad you found me! I am a photographer based in Devon and covering Somerset and the South West. I guess if I had to describe my photographic style its probably artistic documentary – I like to take beautiful images paying close attention to details. I am inspired by the old classic Magnum photographers like Hernri Cartier-Bresson, Elliot Erwitt and Eve Arnold. They spent their lives capturing little moments in life, simply and beautifully, and those moments told huge stories. When I look at the photos they took fifty years ago they haven’t aged, they are not dated by their style because they are classic, they retain a timeless quality – and I think that’s important.

I love to shoot film, which I think is really special – It has a warm authentic quality that is just un-beatable. I shoot digital for the most part for practical reasons (although I’d love to photograph a whole wedding in film!) but for the ‘couple’ portraits and the details I use my Contax 645 medium format film camera. Whilst the digital cameras allow me to work quickly and unobtrusively through the day the photographs my couples love the best are nearly always shot on film.

I work in a relaxed manner and have an unobtrusive approach. I meet with my couples in advance and make a plan on how we can get the very best photos on the day with the least interruption. I also have a degree in fine art photography – but that’s enough about me, from now on it’s all about you!
